The new set-top box comes with Independent TV branding as there is no mention of Reliance Big TV.  Independent DTH provides various HD channels in different categories like Infotainment, Entertainment, Sports, News, Movies, Kids, radio channels, etc.

In the system, options like reminders, channel list, USB, user profile and system settings can be accessed from the main menu.

Independent TV DTH Price

Independent TV is available for new users with an upfront price of Rs 2,500 for the Set-top-box according to a local dealer that we talked to. Customers will get 1 year of free subscription with around 250 channels with some channels in HD in Rs 2,500 itself. So, monthly, viewers will be paying roughly Rs 208 for the first 12 months. It’s not a bad deal if you look at it this way.

Cons Of Independent TV

For the service activation, one has to go to the official website and pay Rs. 500 for activation. The company claimed to provide service within 30-45 days of the booking but various customers have reported that it is taking even longer than that.

Since the company is newly launched and with so many bookings, a customer may face problems in getting proper after sale service from nearby centers.

Many customers are reporting that the service is very poor from the company’s set-top box and customer services. Also, their e-mails and customer care number are irresponsive and the team behaving irresponsibly. It is highly recommended to research well before buying the services of Independent TV as you may not get service for a long time.

  1. Very poor service/support. Installation completed after 6 months & now it’s not working due to Poor Signal. Raised issue 2 weeks back but no one visited yet to check the same.
    Only 6-7 HD channels which sometime works

    Buy this DTH if you money to spend & time to argue with their customer service executive.

    1. Installation guy messed with the dish fixing. He dismantled the old Tata sky dish, and used couple of components from the old dish and used it in new one.
    2. When complained, cuatomer support says they are not responsible for installation, and the complaint will be responded to after a week.
    3. There are very few channels, and the picture quality is too bad

  3. Now a days most of them having Full HD Tvs and expecting to watch clear picture. For that they are ready to pay extra cost for HD channel package also. This INDIPENDENT Dth is not providing such a facility. No option to select user required channels, even if you are ready to pay extra amout. whatever HD channels coming presently are very minimal count. Hope operator will provide facility to customer choose channel list soon. Else this the same way of Reliance DTH.
    Finally I am not satisfy with INDIPENDENT DTH.

  4. Independent tv is stop working after three days of installation.
    I made 194 calls to customer care.
    No visit of technician after complaint.
    No response of email to customer care.
    What I will do now.

  5. I have booked on 4-3-2018 till now iam not received my connection. Everytime i called to customer care they informed me wait for 7days. They are telling for 4months onwards same. So Iam informing all of you dont buy independent tv connection. This is fake. Mails also not responding. Iam sending 3000mails but no reply

  8. I have made the payment on 30 Sep’ 18 but have not received any communication/SMS for the same. It has been more than 2 weeks. Their customer support team always ask for 48 hours for the payment confirmation acknowledgement. If they cannot even acknowledge the payment receipt, I wonder how they will provide the services.

Worst experience ever with a consumer company.I booked one connection on 2nd Mar 2018 with reference number 12522432 and told to connect within 45 days to 60 days.I called the toll free number a number of times, more than 30 to 40 times.The answer to many were the engineer will call you within a week,4 or 5 times.They haven’t responded many times. I strongly recommend that general public not go for this type of white collor cheating… By misusing the Reliance communication name.

  14. One of the worst worst worst customer service everrrrrr, Had a issue since last two days ,called Cus. Care more than 10 times and every time within 10 to 15 min or 2 to hours they give us a time and told me , ur issue will solve in 15 min. That 15 min will never came . Finally I called them and tell them to take this away and I don’t need this & then they said Contact ur local dealer or someone who came to fix this independent box , I’m like wowwwwww , r u serious after two days u telling me this thing , are gone out of ur mind or what ? Stupid answer , I called local dealer and he said call customer service back,,,, I’m more than [email protected]$&&@ madddddddd for this stupid , unbelievable , nasty people who doesn’t even know how to speak , how to solve their own business problems and how to handle customer . That’s not about it “ I WILL NOT STOP ONLY HERE , EAITHER THEY HAVE TO REFUND FULL MONEY OR ELSE COMPLAIN WILL BE GO DIRECTLY TO CEO OF COMPANY “ don’t take this easyyyyyyyyy , if they can’t fix it today then will be a big issue for them .

  15. Indian DTH operator Independent TV (previously known as ‘Big TV’), and backed by Reliance Communications, is losing money hand-over-fist.

    In its full-year results (to March 31st) the DTH operation’s revenues crashed 45.4 per cent and representing a nine-fold increase in losses over the previous year.

    Reliance Communications (RCom) said that the company has entered into a definitive binding agreement with Pantel Technologies and Veecon Media and Television for sale of Independent TV. Prior to the MoU with Veecon, RCom had issued a notice stating that the DTH business is being shut down from November 18th due to the expiry of its licence.

    Part of the reason for the collapse in revenues was that many broadcasters had ceased supplying their channels and programming because of missed payment of carriage fees.

    Satellite business Antrix (the commercial arm of ISRO) has taken Independent TV to court over unpaid capacity fees.

    According to data from the Ministry of Broadcasting, the DTH operator has just a 1 per cent share of the market.

Their customer support team always ask for 48 hours for the payment confirmation .all is customercare making us fool.. because they have not proper information……my installation no..7889043384………… fraud..fraud…. very very very bad service.

    I have made online booking of your connection Rs. 1999. For freedom pack for new connection.
    But after 16 days over I have not getting new connection.
    I have received message regarding my installation will be done with 7 to 10 days.
    But I continuously follow up the matter but I have not getting proper response in your side.
    If I have not getting my connection before Sunday.
    I will go to consumer court and broadcast authorities.
    I once again requested to look into the matter and resolve the issue on priority.

  21. As a citizen of indian and one of the big voices in the land surrounded by water on 3 sides. i demand due respect as citizen of india.
    Being indian Co. ..Big TV offered indian citizens 1 yr subscription for 1500/- along with HD channels in the month Jan-feb 2018.
    After 1 month of service it disappeared without any information as if there is no law in india to apprehend them. I did follow on
    customer care for all the months till october and just by chance i called again customer care in october month just to check before taking up this issue
    with TRAI / Consumer court / information broadcasting ministry. Customer care is reachable and connecting ..connected.
    What about all these months of advance money Big TV took ..who is responsible for all these problems. Is it that Big Tv thinks there is no
    law in india to apprehend them and put in jail. This is small statement .. if one were to hear. If i were to start action against these
    business practice ..then both brothers will be thrown out of india by indian public. I will not spare them even to one inch of the land in
    india.
