Modi’s Independence Day speech to be broad-cast live by Google on their homepage

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing on 72nd Independence Day speech on Aug 15 from the historical place, Red Fort and the event will be streaming live on Youtube and Google. This live telecast decision was taken by Prasar Bharati to grab more visibility of the event. According to a report, the search engine made similar arrangements for US President Donald Trump for his inaugural ceremony in January.

Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati said:

“To increase our digital presence we have made efforts to tie up with Google and Youtube for the live telecast of Independence Day speech, online”.

This means when a person searches for Independence day on Google, they will be able to see the live speech on the homepage itself, said the sources. Like the last year, PM Modi has this year also asked people to send ideas for his speech on Independence Day.

A statement issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan said President Ram Nath Kovind will be addressing the country on the eve of I-Day. The speech will be broad casted all over India on Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR) in Hindi as well as in English. It also said the speech will also be broad-casted on Doordarshan in regional languages.

As per our sources, Doordarshan will not only coincide with the anchors in four walls of their studio but will have anchors and 22 high definition cameras at Red Fort and four cameras at Raj Ghat for the coverage. Doordarshan channel will also translate PM Modi’s speech in 20 regional languages, which will be telecasted live on Aug 15.

The sources also told us about the traffic diversion for Aug 15, the traffic will be diverted in Delhi, between Nizamuddin Bridge and Wazirabad bridge, goods vehicle will not be allowed to enter from Aug 14 midnight till 11 am on Aug 15. Security measures will be taken by Delhi police and that is why parking facility will be closed for Delhi metro stations from Aug 14 till 2 pm on Aug 15.
