Ministry of Road Transport and Highways launched 'Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha' campaign to raise awareness about Road safety

Akshay Kumar sadak suraksha brand ambassadorAkshay Kumar, 50-year old, has made his position in hearts and minds of people by depicting real-life stories in the form of movies like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha with the motive of #SwacchBharatAbhiyaan and Padman with hygiene during menstruation. He lends his support to the social causes in both reel and real life.

Akshay Kumar, as brand ambassador of Government of India’s road safety campaign (Sadak Suraksha) is trying to bring behavioral change in people regarding traffic and road safety issues. On Tuesday, Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Brand Ambassador of road safety campaign Akshay Kumar released a video on the awareness for road safety.

This road safety week campaign’s name is named as “Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Suraksha”. The videos of Akshay have been viral on social media sites. He speaks out:

“It is better to be safe than sorry. Always follow traffic rules”.

Akshay Kumar speaks to one of our sources, “I immediately joined the road safety campaign as soon as I got to know some shocking facts and figures about the road accidents which can be prevented”. He also added, the number of people killed in road accidents are more than people who die in the war. In these videos, he is seen as a cop and urges people to follow the traffic rules strictly. He made three such videos for the awareness amongst the people.
