Every smartphone manufacturer is trying everything possible to impress customers with high-end specifications in smartphones at an affordable price. But there’s one more thing that more and more smartphone manufacturer is interested in. They are rolling out more and more products like Powerbanks, Smartwatches and even TVs. Let it be Samsung, Xiaomi or any other leading smartphone manufacturer, everyone is trying hard to gain as much market share as possible. But this time, there’s one more manufacturer that is trying to enter the Smart TvVmarket. It is ‘OnePlus‘ or ‘One +”
Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus might announce its Smart TV sooner than you have read in the news. CEO Pete Lau last year announced their plans to enter the Smart TV market. The company was expected to give us a heads up about the same at its event in May, but it decides to stay quiet about it and didn’t reveal anything at that time.
The tipster Ishan Agarwal in a recent leak suggested that OnePlus TV‘s launch is right around the corner. “Have some good news for you all: The OnePlus TV is not very far away, at least according to one source. The launch might be soon, so stay tuned. I have very high expectations from it, what about you?” Agarwal said in a tweet.
“I dream about a time when technology is truly seamless, an effortless part of your life without being the focus. As other consumer electronics have evolved and improved our lives, televisions have remained conventional and cumbersome,” said Pete Lau.
“For most of us, there are four major environments we experience each day: the home, the workplace, the commute, and being on-the-move. The home – perhaps the most important environment experience – is just starting to enjoy the benefits of intelligent connectivity. Something that seems as simple as displaying the photos from your mobile phone to a television is still difficult to achieve. With the development of AI technology, our imagination is endless – and we are looking forward to the future,” Pete Lau added.
Possible Specifications of OnePlus TV
He hinted at developing an AI-assistant for the smart TV, which might be armed with high-quality hardware, seamless user experience, and minimalistic design. However, no other specs of the TV have been revealed but the least one could expect is a 4K TV with Android OS. But we still expect them to put another interface. Just like the Oxygen OS is a distinguishing factor for OnePlus smartphones, it looks like the company is looking to make the TV experience unique as well.
There is almost nothing known about the specs of the OnePlus TV but it looks like it will aim to make an impact in the budget segment in India just like the original OnePlus smartphone because Xiaomi also did the same by introducing budget friendly TVs. Xiaomi has distinguished its TVs in India with the PatchWall OS and the company is continuously working on improving the user experience, so this is one area where OnePlus will have to bring distinguishing features. So, Xiaomi is going to be One Plus’s main competition as Xiaomi holds a strong place in the Smart TV market.
Price of OnePlus TV in India
As far as we can guess, OnePlus can launch its smart television in 4K resolution with certifications like Dolby Atoms, HDR10. Like its smartphone models, OnePlus’s smart television can be sold at mid-tier pricing. However, no details have emerged yet about the pricing of OnePlus’s smart television. Some reports say that OnePlus’ smart television could cost less than Rs 50,000. In the smart television segment, OnePlus will take on Samsung, LG, Sony’s Smart Televisions and most importantly the Xiaomi’s Smart Tv line up who have occupied most of the market.
