Video: Anushka & Varun’s new film Sui Dhaaga has a Made in India twist

Varun Dhawan is currently one of the finest young actors in the country and probably only young actor with zero flops since his debut in the industry years ago. With films like Judwaa 2 and Main Tera Hero, he has proved that he is a super bankable star and with film like October, he displayed his acting skills like never before.

Anushka Sharma is among the top five actresses in the industry for last few years. With blockbusters like PK and Sultan, she has shown how bankable she is as an actress is. With films like Pari and Phillauri, she has proved she does not need any superstar to deliver hit films. She is also widely appreciated for her acting skills.

Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma are working for the first time in Sui Dhaga and look extremely fresh as an on-screen pair. The actors revealed the logo for Sui Dhaga on Tuesday and it may just be the most creative logo ever created for a Bollywood film. YRF also chose to release the logo on National Handloom Day. The film’s team reached out to local artisans and craftsmen from across the country to create the logo in their unique stitching styles.

In a special video, Varun and Anushka revealed that the team sent a stencil to several artists in Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and many more states.

Many sent their creative work. It includes the popular Indian hand needlework forms of Kashida and Sozni from Kashmir, colorful Phulkari from Punjab, the intricate thread work forms Rabari and Mochi Bharat from Gujarat, Phool Patti from Uttar Pradesh and Zardozi work from Lucknow. It has also be created in Rajasthan’s prominent crafts like Aari, Banjara and Gota Patti, Tamil Nadu’s popular Toda style and Karnataka’s Kasuti design.

Talking about the film, while Varun plays the role of a tailor, Anushka plays an embroiderer in the film. Ace director Sharat Kataria and producer Maneesh Sharma have teamed up again for this project. The film is set to release on September 28 this year.
