Vibhuti Sharma Replaces Disha Vakani To Play Dayaben In Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

tarak mehta Dayaben After a long wait, the fans of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah can finally rejoice as the character of Dayaben is returning back on screen. The popular character was played by Disha Vakani for years until she went on maternity leave in September 2017. The actress gave birth to a baby girl in November that year. Since then, she has been a full-time mother and has not taken any work. Because of her absence from TV for a very long time, people assumed that she will quit the show. However, she refused the rumors and said that she would soon return as Dayaben.

After waiting for more than 18 months, the makers of the show are replacing Disha with Vibhuti Sharma. According to a report in Spotboye, Vibhuti shot a demo scene for the show and makers have found her the closest to the character.

Vibhuti has worked in popular shows like Bade Achche Lagte Hain starring Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar.

The reason why the makers of the show are replacing Disha is that they are not ready to meet her demands. The reports suggested that Disha apparently asked for a hike in her pay and also demanded a change in working hours. Disha was earlier charging Rs 1.25 lakh per episode and it is said that she was now demanding Rs 1.5 lakh per episode.

While talking about Disha’s exit from the show, producer Asit Modi once said in an interview, “Replacements and leap jumps are common in the television industry, they keep happening. It is nothing new and in the past whenever replacements have taken place, new actors have got accepted by the audience. On TV, an actor is known for its character and not by his name. Yes, we have started looking out for options because if in future Disha does not want to return we will have to replace her. But I would also like to add that Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is a positive show so we will hope for a positive result.”

Disha Vakani rose to fame with her character in TMKOC.  Before this, she did small roles in films like Devdas and Jodha Akbar. In 2015, the actress tied the nuptial knot businessman Mayur Pandya.
