Internet Is Disappointed At AR Rahman’s Marvel Anthem For Avengers Endgame

The song was launched by Endgame co-director Joe Russo at a promotional event in Mumbai on Monday. The idea behind the Hindi Marvel Anthem was to create a buzz and anticipation before the release of upcoming film Avengers: Endgame.

The official Twitter handle of Marvel Studios took to Twitter to release the song. While unveiling the video, they wrote, ”Here’s something special for all you amazing Marvel India fans! Presenting the #MarvelAnthem created by the maestro AR Rahman.”

However, the excitement of the Marvel fans vanished as soon as the song came out. People showed disappointment over the song and pointed out that it doesn’t match the energy level of the Avengers movie. Some people expressed that now they wish the song was never made, while others shared jokes and memes on social media to make fun of the anthem song.

Though the song received flak on social media, it was trending on Number 1 on YouTube. AR Rahman took his Twitter account to thank all his fans.

The song has been composed, produced and sung by AR Rahman and it will be released in Tamil and Telugu too.

Endgame co-director Joe Russo, who is currently in India for the film’s promotion talked about the Hindi Anthem. He said, “I have goosebumps every time I watch this anthem. The song is in Hindi but goes so well with the emotions in the film… The song embodies the film’s spirit.”

Talking about the future of Marvel Cinematic Universe, he said, “I don’t run Marvel, but I can say that storytelling is becoming diverse. That’s the future of Marvel. The reason I am here is because the audience from across the world has reacted to us. I am certain that different cultures will start seeing themselves represented on screen and will start identifying with characters on screen.”

On collaboration with Marvel Studios, AR Rahman once told in an interview, “Being surrounded by Marvel fans in my own family, there was too much pressure to come with something really satisfying and apt for Avengers: Endgame. I hope Marvel aficionados and music lovers enjoy the track.”

Avengers Endgame is slated to hit the screens on April 26.
