Hrithik Roshan To Don the role of Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari’s next project Ramayana. Who is playing Sita?


Hrithik Roshan is soaring high on his latest hit ‘Super 30‘. The film has crossed Rs 125 crores at the box office. The real-life portrayal of mathematician has hit the right chords with the fans. Now Roshan has few mega films in pipeline like War, Krrish 4. Going by reports, he has also given nod to play Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari’s next project Ramayana. The trend of mythological films is back with Aamir Khan planning to do a film adaptation of Mahabharata. Now it is the turn of Hrithik Roshan to don the avatar of Lord Rama in the mythological drama. Considered to be Hrithik’s most ambitious project, the film will be budgeted at Rs 500 crores.

Going by the Filmfare report, a source close to the development confirmed about signing up of Hrithik but there has been no confirmation.

“It will be a live-action trilogy, which will be made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The film will be produced by Allu Aravind, Namit Malhotra and Madhu Mantena. It will be made on a whopping budget of Rs 500 crore and will be shot in 3D,” the source said.

“Hrithik has already given his nod to the project and is already calling it his most ambitious project till date,” the source added.

The director Nitesh Tiwari in an interview with Times of India said

“I am looking forward to work in ‘Ramayan’, something that I am really excited about. Once done with ‘Chhichhore’, I will go back to start working for ‘Ramayan’. It is a challenge for me as I have a sense of responsibility to bring the project in its true form of glory for the country.”

Nitesh is getting ready for the release of Chhichhore’ starring Shraddha Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput. He will be joined by Ravi Udyawar when he starts on Ramayan to come up with the 3D, live-action trilogy.

Now the question arises, who will play the role of Sita? Going by inside reports, producer Madhu insisted on zeroing the name of Deepika Padukone. But we have to wait for the official word. If things work out then Ramayana will be the first movie of Roshan and Deepika together.

Meanwhile, Hrthik has denied rumours of working with Aanand L Rai’s latest.

“That’s not true at all. I’ve not been contacted by Aanand L Rai yet. Unless they’re on their way to me, I don’t know,” Hrithik said.
