83 Film- Ranveer Singh to play Kapil Dev in upcoming biography

83 film kapil devActor Ranveer Singh, who is always high on energy and life, is currently shooting for his
upcoming film, ‘83’. Directed by Kabir Khan, 83 is a Sports drama based on India’s historic win
against West Indies in the 1983 Cricket World Cup.

In the movie, Ranveer will essay the role of Kapil Dev and his wife Deepika Padukone will play
the role of his on-screen wife, Romi Dev. The couple’s chemistry has always been admired on-
screen, as is evident from blockbuster movies like Bajirao Mastani and Ramleela. The couple
recently posted pictures on Instagram announcing the portrayal of Mrs. Romi Dev by Deepika
Padukone and fans couldn’t stop gushing over their happy faces.

The film is set to release on April 10, 2020, in India. Apart from Ranveer Singh and Deepika
Padukone, critically acclaimed actor Pankaj Tripathi will be playing the part of Indian manager
Man Singh. As of now, Adinath Kothare, Ammy Virk, Chirag Patel, Hardy Sandhu, Jatin Sarna,
Jiiva, Saqib Saleem and Tahir Bhasin, have been cast for the roles of players of the Indian cricket
team that won Cricket world cup in 1983, creating history.

This movie will serve as a chance for the millennials to relive the phenomenal and first victory of
India in the Cricket world cup, 36 years ago. Being one of the few movies that bring together the
fans of cricket and good cinema. Recently, the ever-energetic Ranveer took to his Instagram
handle and shared a BTS video from the sets of ’83’, marking 36 years of India’s iconic win.
The video features hard work of the team along with the actor, to get their shots right. The
passion and efforts of the crew to do justice to the story are quite evident.

We all are rooting for the magic this movie will bring on the Silver Screen, next year. On a
different note, when Ranveer Singh commented on Deepika’s post announcing her role as his on-
screen wife, “…and this time we don’t die in the end! Yay!”, we all could feel it!
