Friday Box Office clash spills over to 4 OTTs! Watch it on July 31

The last Friday of July will witness a war on the 4 major streaming platforms. It will be somewhat similar to Friday Box Office same-day release war with OTTS vying for grabbing the eyeballs.

On 31 July, 4 enticing movies will be released on 4 streaming giants of the country. They are Shakuntala Devi on Amazon Prime Video, Raat Akeli Hai on Netflix India, Lootcase on Disney Plus HSVIP, and Avrodh on SonyLIV. Yaara is streaming on Zee5, a day earlier, on July 30.

Shakuntala Devi on Amazon Prime Video

Shakuntala Devi: The Human Computer is directed by Anu Menon. Featuring Vidya Balan, the movie is a biopic on Shakuntala Devi, the unsung Indian Hero, 1923-2013. Vidya Balan is supported by Jisshu Sengupta, Sanya Malhotra, and Amit Sadh, who appear in important roles in the film.

The film was planned to release in theatres on 8th May 2020. But the pandemic has forced indefinite shutdown of theaters. The digital release of Shakuntala Devi: The Human Computer is planned to come out on Prime Video on May 31st.

Raat Akeli Hai on Netflix India

The summary of Raat Akeli Hai reads: What happens when a small-town cop is summoned to investigate the case of an extremely powerful local politician? How far is he willing to go into the darkness to search for the truth?

The trailer released has received mixed responses. Some feel that it is a concoction of two Hollywood Movies namely “Knives Out” and the Conclusion resembling “Murder on the Orient Express”.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte play titular roles in Raat Akeli Hai. They are supported by star cast Tigmanshu Dhulia, Shweta Tripathi, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Nishant Dahiya, Ila Arun, Swanand Kirkire and Aditya Srivastava.

Lootcase on Disney Plus Hotstar

“Tera dost banna sabka sapna hai, lekin saccha pyar woh sirf apna hai.”

Lootcase, a comedy-drama, has a good looking star cast of Kunal Khemu, Gajraj Rao, Rasika Dugal, Ranveer Shorey, and Vijay Raj. It revolves around a middle-aged family man, who comes across a red-colored suitcase full of money. “He knows nothing about who it belongs to, where it’s from, or how it got there. Nandan has to decide whether or not to take it or leave it.”

Yaara On Zee5

Tigmanshu Dhulia’s directorial venture “Yaara” is getting premiered directly on Zee5 on July 30, the friendship day. It has also skipped theatrical release. Yaara is a remake of 2011, Gang Story, a French crime-drama. The movie’s plot is a tale of friendship, love, and the quest to outrun the past.

Yaara, one of the most awaited movies of 2020 stars Vidyut Jammwal and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles. They are supported by Assam’s very own Kenny Basumatary, Amit Sadh, Vijay Varma, and Sanjay Mishra. It is produced by Sunir Kheterpal for AZURE Entertainment.

‘Avrodh – The Siege Within’ On SonyLIV

The year 2020 appears to be in the name of Amit Sadh. He will be seen in Avrodh – The Siege Within, set to stream from 31st July, only on SonyLIV. It promises to showcase a different side of the 2016 URI surgical strike conducted by the Indian Army on terror launch pads across the LoC.
