The Shoojit Sircar-directed film, ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ is all set for a digital premiere on Amazon Prime. In the times of lockdown and no near visibility of theatres getting re-opened, ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ has skipped the big screen launch. Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana’s Gulabo Sitabo is releasing on the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video on June 12.
The talks and rumors were underway for the past few days. Sr. Bachhan officially confirmed it in a tweet today. Announcing on the social media about the new challenge of release on the OTT platform, he said
Gulabo Sitabo is the directorial venture of Shoojit Sircar where the screen is shared by Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana for the first time. Lauded to be a ‘Life dramedy,’ it has the entertainment zing in it.
“Gulabo Sitabo is a slice of life dramedy that is a must-watch for families at home. I was excited about my role since the first time Shoojit showed me the character’s look. It took me almost three hours each day to get into character with its different look.
I had a wonderful time working with my very talented co-star Ayushmann Khurrana. Even though we are constantly bantering in the film, it has been a pleasure working with him for the first time. This family entertainer has the power to cut across geographic boundaries, and we are pleased to bring Gulabo Sitabo to audiences across the globe,” while talking about his experience Amitabh Bachchan said.
A comic, light hearted dramedy has been written by Juhi Chaturvedi, produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar promises to be a complete family entertainer.
The official synopsis of the movie reads, “Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana, Gulabo Sitabo is the quirky tale of two slimy scheming foxes in a game of one upmanship, each one attracting other members to their clan and each one with an agenda of his own.”
Get ready for first day, first show, first stream on June 12 as Gulabo Sitabo becomes the first Bollywood blockbuster to declare its official premiere on an OTT.
