Disney+ Hotstar rolling out on 3rd April 2020 in 3 different subscription plans

Disney+ Hotstar service is going to come out in India after a slight delay due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Initially, the service was supposed to go live by the end of March, but now it will be available in India starting 3rd April 2020. A beta version trial was held in March but on April 3, Disney+ Hotstar will be available to the Indian audience with 3 different subscription plans.

As a part of the partnership between Disney+ and Hotstar, the app has been redesigned and renamed to Disney+ Hotstar. However, the rebranding and redesigning of the app is not the main point. We will get access to over 100 new shows on the app that is available on Disney+ along with fresh content for kids. There is also a Disney+ Hotstar VIP, which allows the users to access the content in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu as well. At the moment, some users can see the new branding on accessing Hotstar.

There is also a Disney+ Hotstar Premium service that will let the users access all the content present on the app. At the same time, the free-tier users will also be able to watch a variety of shows, movies, news, and sports with ad-support.

As mentioned, Disney+ Hotstar would have three options: Disney+ Hotstar VIP, Disney+ Hotstar Premium, and an ad-supported basic tier. The ad-supported option is free, the Disney+ Hotstar VIP option will cost INR 399 per year, whereas the Disney+ Hotstar VIP will come for INR 1499 a year.

The existing Hotstar subscribers will not have to pay anything extra. They will get access to all the premium Disney+ content on its launch on the existing Hotstar Premium membership. At the time of account renewal, the new rates will be charged.

The Disney+ Hotstar VIP would give you access to the complete Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside movies such as The Lion King, Frozen II, Aladdin, and Toy Story 4. Some popular cartoons such as Mickey Mouse and Doraemon would be available in Indian languages. You would also get access to the Hotstar exclusives and popular movies such as Tanajhi along with Live sports streaming.

The subscribers to Disney+ Hotstar Premium would get complete access to Disney+ content along with all the Hotstar content in multiple languages including, English.
