‘Shakuntala Devi’, starring Vidya Balan gets a release date on Prime Video

On May 15, Amazon Prime Video had announced the names of 7 Bollywood and regional movies premiering directly on its platform. It all started with the release of Jyothikha’s Ponmagal Vandhal on May 29. The next to follow the track is Amitabh Bachhan and Aayushman Khurrana’s Gulabo Sitabo scheduled to hit you on June 12.

June has one more regional movie under its belt. It is Keerthy Suresh’s ‘Penguin’ hitting Prime Video for digital release on June 19. Amazon Prime Video has revealed the 4th and 5th movie release dates on its platform. They are Sufiyum Sujathayum coming on July 2nd and Shakuntala Devi getting released on July 31st.

Vidya Balan will be essaying the role of Shakuntala Devi in her namesake Biopic, she is supported by Sanya Malhotra and Amit Sadh. The movie is directed and written by Anu Menon. It is produced under the banner of Sony Pictures Networks India and Vikram Malhotra under Abundantia Entertainment.

The first malayalam film to release directly to OTT. Sufiyum Sujathayum starring Jayasurya and Aditi Rao Hydari releasing soon on Prime Video

Another most awaited movie skipping theatrical release and opting for digital direct to web release is Sufiyum Sujathayum. The first Malayalam film for OTT release, it is a thrilling musical affair of hearts with Jayasurya and Aditi Rao Hydari in lead roles. Naranipuzha Shanavaz has written and directed the musical romance. It is produced by Vijay Babu under his banner Friday Film House. 

Aditi Rao Hydari says about the script “It’s a love story that gave me goosebumps. I’m looking forward to it. I hope it turned out well”
